12:18 am - Megara and Hercules Family
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v377/AmysPictures/AmysArtSite/Hercules/MegaraandHerculesFamily.jpg?t=1246690997

In away this is for 3 people, futaba2 who wanted me to have "some interesting background art", europpean-traveler who had asked me to create Meg and b3rna Herc's kids to begin with and who wanted me to make a family portrait.
It's more like a family snapshot then a portrait but I hope you like.
The background is one point perspective again, I did use reference for the trees and got some ideas for the sky from http://animationbackgrounds.blogspot.com/search/label/HERCULES which is a great site for background references.
This one took me a while because of the fact that in today's society most teens don't hang out with their parents, so it took me a while to come up with an activity that I thought would be believable.
I was originally going to do more of portrait but couldn't think of any way to add a really interesting background.
Happy 4th of July!

12:15 am - Meg and Herc wedding art
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v377/AmysPictures/AmysArtSite/Hercules/MegandHercJustMarried.jpg
As most of you already know this is a picture that I started working on back in February for Valentine's day. I was unable to finish it like this in time for Valentine's day so I had posted this version [link] to my web site.
Since I finally felt inspired to finish it I went ahead and added Pegasus as I had originally planed on doing (playing the part of the comic relief with the "Just Married" banner tied to his back lol
I had originally planed to add Phil as well but decided against it in the end.
This picture is 1280x800 if you want to use it as a wallpaper.
Programs I used where Adobe Illustrator for the lines and base color, Adobe Photoshop was use for shading and background the texture on the ground was added in Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10.

10:05 am - The Happy Cricket (2006)
I watched this movie last night that had aired on the Starz network and it was really interesting, it's called The Happy Cricket and it was made in 2006.
It's animated in traditional (or 2D if you will) animation, however they did this odd thing where they would (at what seemed like random) throw in computer animated (3D) backgrounds and a few 3D characters, I felt that the mixing of the two animations could have been done better because all the computer stuff really stuck out like a sore thumb, however the traditional or 2D animation was really very well done.
The movie also had this one really lovely song in it, called "Night Star." If you go to the movies web site http://www.thehappycricketmovie.com/ on the bottom of the page is a player that plays the song, the song is track number 3, or you can go to "Videos" and click on the 2nd one and check out a small clip of the song with the video footage from the movie.
Since I know most of the people on my friend list really enjoy family friendly animated movies I thought I would let you all know about this one in case you would like to check it out. :)

12:54 pm - The power of "thank you"
Aaron and Kendra Reading: How to catch a frog
Yesterday I attended an Animation Expo at the library, where I gave demonstrations on how to use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, as well as give my first presentation of three chapters from my book.
Several years ago I spent most of my free time reading books on animation and art that I had checked out from the library and I kept noticing that they where almost all donated by the same person. In one of the books it had the person's e-mail and so I wrote to them and said thank you. Several years later, I got an e-mail back from the person and she asked me to come display my art, give demonstrations and present my book and all because many years ago I said two little words, "thank you!"

2:19 pm - Happy Valentine's Day
Here is my Valentine's Day card I made.
Photobucket
I did the clean up on paper instead of on the computer like I usually do and I am not really happy with the result, I wanted to add some more things to it like a background but I ran out of time.
I do plan on re-doing the clean up, making the lines colored like they are in the movie, adding shading and a background but I just didn't give myself enough time to get it fished in time for Valentine's Day. Never the less I hope it makes your Valentine's Day a little bit more full of love. ;)

11:18 pm - My Art Nouveau Cinderella
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v377/AmysPictures/AmysArtSite/Cinderella/AmysArtNouveauCinderella.jpg
This picture was inspired by the art nouveau artist Alphonse Mucha's painting http://www.flickr.com/photos/royguadalupe/2476251234/ and by the Art Nouveau Disney Princess merchandise.
For the border I was inspired by the following scenes from the movie:
http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/cinderella/gall/cinderella001.jpg
http://magicalscreencaps.com/images/cinderella/gall/cinderella002.jpg
The crown however I tired to make look a bit more like the one from the Cinderellabration show at WDW.
Drawn by hand and then the canvas and color were added in Adobe Photoshop CS2.
Happy 2009 everyone! ^_^

10:44 pm - Be on the look out for this person!
On December 23rd I got an e-mail notifying me that someone had created a account on Deviantart and was using my artwork and claiming it was theirs, even though my name was still clearly showing on each piece of art.
The person's url was http://theofgiulianno.deviantart.com/. They had stolen my artwork as well as other artists artwork.
The person was also selling off my Disney fan art in their Deviantart shop, which is illegal. I can't even charge for the Disney fan art I draw because the characters don't belong to me.
I turned the person into Deviantart and got my artwork removed right away without any trouble. Figuring that was the end of it, I saw no point in mentioning it but then today I got another e-mail notifying me that that same person has created a new account at Deviantart http://thebeastrose.deviantart.com/ and has once again uploaded my artwork and is claiming it as their own and this time they have gone so far as to remove my name and add their own.
I have since turned them into Deviantart again and hope that they will remove it but since this is the second time in less then a week that this person has stolen my artwork and posted it on the web claiming it to be their own I wanted to let you all know what is going on and ask you to please, if you see anyone using my artwork and claiming it as their own to notify me so I can turn them into the proper authorities.
Also if you are an artist, especially one that draws Disney fan art, be on the look out for this person.

8:48 pm - Happy Hanukkah
Happy Hanukkah to all my friends, may your hearts be filled with the warm glow of Hanukkah and your tummies full of latkes and gelt. ;)
Click on the link below to view the Hanukkah I made.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v377/AmysPictures/AmysArtSite/Miscellaneous/HappyHanukkah.jpg?t=1229921092
This card was inspired by a suggestion [info]lady_heartilly made and the lady her self. ;D
She suggested I draw a picture of Mickey and Minnie Mouse throwing a party for all the Disney characters at Cinderella's Castle, so after much thought I ended incorporating a lot of things that I knew she liked into the picture such as Mickey and Minnie's Dream Along With Mickey outfits the Disney Princesses and their Princes and of course Hanukkah. Sebastian and Flounder were my own little additions just because I got the idea and I thought it was cute. ;)
The picture it self took me a week to finish, I did end up having to use some old pictures of the the Princesses and their Princes just to get it done in time but the castle Mickey, Minnie, Tinkerbell, Ariel, Eric, Flounder and Sebastian are all new drawings.
As far as programs go I used Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
